Our story · Meet the founders

Born from love.
Driven by technology.
Built to protect.

We are Jukka and Pauliina, a couple whose journey with BatWatch began with a deeply personal question: how can we better protect the people we love?

Pauliina — Protecting what matters most

Our child's bedroom is right next to our carport. As we followed news reports about serious electric vehicle fires, Pauliina began to worry: what if a fire started just outside our home while our family was asleep?

There was no fire alarm in our carport. For Pauliina, this wasn't primarily a technology problem. It was about protecting our child and the people closest to us.

“How can we keep our loved ones safe?”

Jukka — Bringing industrial thinking home

Jukka loves technology. Familiar with thermal-camera-based fire detection systems from the chemical industry, he wondered why carports so often have no fire alarm at all.

If thermal imaging can be used to detect fire risks in demanding industrial settings, why couldn't a similar approach be adapted for everyday carports and garages?

“Why shouldn't this technology protect our homes, too?”
From our home to a wider mission

A personal concern became a shared ambition.

We started BatWatch to explore how proven industrial ideas could be developed into a practical, accessible thermal monitoring solution for parking environments. We want to commercialize this technology because families, housing communities and property owners deserve better tools to recognize potential fire risks.

What began with a concern for our own family has become our ambition to help protect many more.

BatWatch is personal to us. See the risk. Act earlier.
The technology

Designed to notice
what others may miss.

BatWatch is developing a temperature and thermal-imaging-based approach to monitoring parked electric vehicles. The system concept focuses on identifying abnormal thermal patterns and supporting timely risk assessment.

01 / OBSERVE

Thermal awareness

Monitor temperature patterns in selected parking environments.

02 / IDENTIFY

Unusual heat patterns

Explore ways to flag thermal anomalies that may require attention.

03 / RESPOND

Information for action

Support earlier investigation and appropriate response by responsible personnel.

Product functionality, performance, certifications and alerting capabilities remain subject to development and validation. BatWatch is not presented as a replacement for required fire safety systems.

BatWatch Industrial 360 · Concept

Built for demanding
parking environments.

Meet the BatWatch Industrial 360 concept: a rugged, matte-black ceiling-mounted thermal monitoring unit designed around four standardized camera modules for wide-area observation in parking garages and commercial facilities.

Its simplified enclosure and bolted mounting concept aim to support practical manufacturing and installation. Camera placement and effective coverage remain subject to engineering validation and site conditions.
